Armed Forces Week, activities 

Armed Forces Week is a chance to show your support for the people who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving personnel to service families, veterans and cadets.

Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June, falling this year on 28 June, it marks the culmination of a week of celebrations, beginning on Monday 23 June.

There will be training session held on the Wednesday the 25th of June for all NHS and Public sector workers in London and Charity workers. This is in partnership with Thrive Together, The Ripple Pond, WWTW, to help build awareness of OpCOURAGE and other services available to Veterans,  Reserves who are still serving are also able to access the service. If you wish to attend this training you can email in to the service and we can arrange an invite to be sent to you.

There is an online flag rasing ceremony across London on the Thursday the 26th June at 9am which can be watched online herehttps://www.london.gov.uk/events/armed-forces-day-2025

Also on the 26th June there will be the popular Armed Forces Community Drop In,  here at St Pancras Hospital from 5-7pm, where veterans can come and meet other veterans or access charities and services, this also includes an Improv 4 Wellness Comedy session which people can watch or get involved in. OpCOURAGE staff will be attending The Gurkha Centre Veterans Cafe at Hayes and Harlington Community Centre on Friday the 27th from 10am onwards, to help engage with Gurkha Veterans and their families that may require an outreach approach to access the service. There will also be talks and celebration of our armed forces and veterans at this event. https://thegurkhacentre.org.uk/
